Siobhán Parkinson, today visited one of the events being held as part of a joint North-South Children’s Book Programme.
The programme, which is being supported by both Education Departments, is running in conjunction with Children’s Books Ireland’s annual Book Festival. It will see storytelling and creative writing events happening across Ireland that are specifically aimed at encouraging parents to read with their children. Today’s event was hosted by Saint Patrick’s Academy in Lisburn, where award winning children’s author Alan Durant hosted a creative writing workshop for Year 8 (1st year post-primary) pupils.
